Me in 2o19.

Hi! I'm Debora Bah, a Brazilian visual artist based on Tallinn, Estonia. Currently, I'm a master's Student at the Human-Computer Interaction program at Tallinn University. Debora Bah is the stage name that I use since my first experiences with photography. I do photography since I was 16 'cause I feel comfortable with the range of expressions that it gives me. My body of work is marked by experiments with different kinds of media, using all the expressions of my curiosity to strength the identity for my production.
I worked as a photojournalist in an internet-based daily newspaper in my home town, and had numerous experiences as freelance photographer for a broad range of clients. The daily practice was the alluring point of the work for me, but besides my enthusiasm with that dynamic environment, I always placed great importance on the theoretical study of the image.
In 2012, I won a national prize in experimental research in communication. In 2013, I graduated as Journalist in the UFMS Foundation. Ans later, in 2014 I moved to Buenos Aires to acquire some technical skills of image manipulation for visual arts, which helped me to dive in another aesthetic path of my own production.
I grew up in Campo Grande, an isolated capital in the border of Brazil, near to Paraguay and Bolivia. And it certainly has influenced the point of view of my whole production. Nonetheless, I've been overcoming the challenges of study and work I had in my place of origin, focusing on the strengths of my artistic expression, and always attempting to achieve a higher standard for my artwork and professional skills.

Thank you for visiting me.
